Aloha- Slow 6

Currently in love with this korean band called Slow 6. First came across this band through the song above as I subscribe to pastelmusic's youtube channel. Pastel music is the record company behind a majority of korean indie acts which includes my favourite artistes like Zitten and Fanny Fink. :D Apparently the song above is for some movie, they never really indicate the english title of the movie anywhere though. :/ But this song is absolutely lovely, very quiet but brimming with laid-back happiness (if you even get what I'm trying to say). It's one of those songs that makes you grin and feel grateful for whatever little thing you have in life which might even encourage you to do a little happy and goofy dance. The sound of the ukulele definitely gave it that "happiness" factor while the soft vocals of the singer just sets you in this dreamy mood. It's almost like you sitting in a beach with gentle breeze blowing in your hair and the sun shining at you through the clouds which makes you feel a very comfy kinda warmth.

I've listened to the rest of this album which I have to say is pretty damn good. While the rest of the songs might not exactly follow the template of this song, they are definitely suitable for those lazy afternoons. If you're looking for something that is soft and understated with a tint of hope, you can surely find that in Slow 6's music. :)

Nangman Band.낭만유랑악단 - “다시보기”

Hello people! I just came back from Seoul (the land of all things pretty and nice). As we've mentioned in our first post, we'll also be sharing with you music that we are currently listening to. Since I just came back from Korea, I thought it would be appropriate to share with you a little about Korean indie music (most people just refer to it as K-indie). :D

Found out about this band through http://fuckyeahkindie.tumblr.com/. Actually they just posted a picture of them without any songs and I thought the girl looks cute so I went to search for their music on youtube. Surprisingly, their music is rather in sync with their looks. Their music is sweet and mellow mostly grounded in the laid-back acoustic style which makes them super easy and pleasant to listen to. There are a lot of k-indie bands which produce such pleasant and soothing music. This specific genre of k-indie is perfect for those afternoons in little cafes and watching the raindrops fall when you’re at home.
This is a video by indie2go which was something I discovered while searching for their videos. Indie2go basically has a rather similar concept to la blogtheque’s take away shows. Both of them showcase artistes playing music in everyday places like cafes and the streets. However, I did notice that indie2go has a rather signature style with their rather bright yet mellowed lighting with most of the videos being shot in very pretty cafes. They were more precise in the way they shoot the videos as compared to the take away shows which were more unadulterated as with their handheld cameras and lighting provided solely by the environment (which explains the shakyness and the sometimes rather obscured faces because they are in semi-darkness). Thus, indie2go is like the more polished version of the la blogtheque’s take away shows.
As for the song, it’s simply beautiful. It has that mellowness and emotions coming out among two very beautiful delicate voices. I got no idea what the lyrics are saying. But it just sounds like a very sad and beautiful song to me. Love the part when the girl goes ah ah~
Will be sharing more of my favourite k-indie music as well as from other genres in the future. ;)
